A teenager from Georgia has become the superhero of these days for all the equestrians. A terrible thing that could have dire horrendous consequences occurred at The Martin family home in Georgia who was struck by lightning in the middle of the night.
They experienced every horse owner’s nightmare by being awakened to the tragic sound of their barn burning with their 14 Clydesdale horses, which included even a newborn colt and a pregnant mare, trapped inside. The barn doors were locked because the power was out and the fire had started burning all around the building. The family feared the worst and they all may have perished if it had not been for their smart 16-year-old teenager, Macon Martin.
He immediately reacted by hopping onto a nearby 4-wheel tractor and driving it straight into the burning barn wall whilst calling his mom out load to follow him. This made a big enough opening for the family to get at the end of the stalls the end and push the horses out.
Obviously, the barn was burned completely, but what mattered was the fact that the heroic act of the teenager made it possible to save every single one of their dear Clydesdales. Our prayers and thoughts go out to the Martin family who lost their barn, which can be rebuild, but we are so happy that they saved all the horses because in the end their life is what matters the most. Macon did a great job and we are all very proud of him!
