We can all agree that the horse world is amazing, however, this amazingness that it has is also associated with a lot of struggles. Have you ever gotten injured while spending time with your horse? If yes, then you will probably relate to the most common horse-related injuries below.
1) Bruised foot/missing toenail: Have you ever forgotten to wear the proper shoes or you simply forgot to change them when you were in a hurry? It was probably a bad decision, especially when your horse is in a hurry to get its food. That’s why you should always take care of the shoes you are wearing.
2) Broken/Missing fingernails: Do you think that having decent fingernails while being a horse owner is a thing? Good luck! Both things are mutually exclusive, you can have only one of them at one time. Well, we all know the choice that all of you have made and I am pretty sure nobody regrets it. Or do you?
3) Sore, red rash: Regarding this one, I really feel bad about people with sensitive skin. It comes as a result of stacking bales of hay. Some people, especially during the summertime might think you have a disease but it is definitely not the case.
4) Blisters on both ring fingers: Have you ever ridden your horse without gloves during a hot summer day? This is the moment when you realize abrasive reins. If you have ever been in this situation then you might have probably regretted not putting the gloves on. At least you know for the next time.
5) Red, weepy eyes: Non-horsey people will never understand how painful it is when you get hit on your face by horsehair. The worst-case scenario is when you have your eyes opened. You eventually risk a quick glance in the mirror and are quite surprised your eyebrows are still attached.
6) Itchy rash: This is another skin-related injury. Again, people with sensitive skin are the most affected. It happens very frequently when you clip a horse and the only thing that goes into your mind is, ‘Why didn’t I let someone else do this?’
7) Sore inner thighs: There is no need for an explanation regarding this one. Every single horse person who just wants to spend a couple more hours riding can feel the pain only by reading this.
