Not only Iceland is considered one of the most surreal places in the world due to its breathtaking scenery but it is also known for its unique and simply adorable horses. That’s why a talented New York City-based professional photographer and filmmaker Drew Doggett, decided to visit the icy region and capture a bit of this astonishing place in his new photoshoot titled ‘In the Realm of Legends,’ where he wanted to show “the amazing relationship between this country and the beautiful horses.”
Icelandic horses are such excellent animals. They have long, furry coats, thick manes, and fringe, but they also are some of the kindest horses in the world. Besides that, they are genetically unique, too.
As you may know, they are right descended from the horses the very first Vikings induced over to Iceland back in the 9th and 10th centuries. Considering the fact that they haven’t been presented to any other horse genes over the years, the result is a sturdy breed that can endure Iceland’s harsh climate without a problem.
While this was Doggett’s first time in Iceland, the photographer has crossed many places all over the world for his other photoshoots just so that he could capture exotic locations and some of the most attractive nature.
“Iceland is an incredible place, and the wild horses are the perfect guides to this unique yet breathtaking land; the combination of the two is truly unforgettable.”- said the photographer. Kudos to him for doing such an amazing job! Enjoy the fairytale-photos of Icelandic horses!
