A lot of times, being an equestrian is also associated with a lot of underestimation as a lot of non-horsey people believe that being a successful equestrian is something that simply needs practice and it is something that everyone can do. They are right for the first part, however, not so much for the second one. A lot of people have entered the horse world and have failed or have immediately realized that it is not for them.
If it was as easy, then why would they give up? To train a horse first you need to understand them and this is definitely a God-given gift. It is true that the physical conditions of a horse are important when it comes to showjumping or racing, however, if there is no connection between the rider and the horse then it is most likely game over.
The horse needs to feel comfortable with the rider in order for it to be in the best form the day when they are going to perform. Unfortunately, we have seen a lot of failures in important competitions and a very frequent reason for it is this lack of connection between the rider and the horse. It seems a little odd when you think about it, however, it is unbelievably true.
However, the key is to keep going, no matter if you fail or not and this is the message that the compilation below is trying to give all of us. Different people in the video below have spent a lot of time in the horse world and they have built their audiences on social media, they are all great horse riders, however, like all the other great horse riders, they also had their bad days.
However, it never stopped them and if you go and check their social media profiles, you will see that they never gave up, no matter these difficult moments. I do believe that everyone can learn something from them, not only horse people but also people who are not connected to horses at all. No matter what you do in life, talent, passion, hard work and determination will help you succeed in your career. Please have a look at the video below and let us know your opinion!
