As horses people, you should now how easily distractable horses are. Sometimes, when they have to perform or train they will find something else just to avoid what they are supposed to do. That’s why a lot of trainers and jockeys need to find different ways how to keep them motivated and focused on what they are doing.
All of them have their own methods that need to be adjusted to the horse’s behavior and the difficulty of trying to convince your horse to do something or not. Well, there are also cases when your horse simply decides to misbehave and nothing in the world can prevent that like the one in the video below. I am not sure if the horse in the video below is unfed or simply has a huge appetite and can’t stop eating. I am pretty sure that the second scenario is the case.
Again, videos like this one leave room for a lot of speculations, that’s why whoever uploads these needs to make it clear for the viewers whether the horses’ actions come as a consequence of mistreatment or not. That’s why I would advise you all not to jump into conclusion and write sentences like, ‘Poor horse is unfed. Shame on their owners’. Judging by the horse’s face, she doesn’t seem mistreated nor unfed.
The young jockey is walking with her horse to prepare to perform but as they were walking close to a few flower pots she couldn’t keep her horse away from those. The last one started eating the flowers and had no intention to stop. As much as the young jockey tried to stop her, it was nearly impossible because the horse already made up her mind to finish her snack. Even the stage workers couldn’t do much at the moment.
The same thing continues for 5 minutes straight because as I said, it was impossible to change the horse’s mind. You, better than anyone should know that all horses have those stubborn moments when you can do nothing but make their wishes come true.
If it something that is easily realizable, I think it’s better to fulfill your horse’s wishes because it might make your horse really aggressive and history has shown that things might get very serious. I just want to all to consider this as just a hilarious video as it is and not speculate about how the horse has been treated.
