Trail Course is a rodeo event in which a horse and rider try to achieve a set of obstacles as fast as they can. It merges the horse’s athletic skill and the horsemanship facilities of a rider to carefully and successfully maneuver a horse through a set of five obstacles.
It is necessary for the rider to remain mounted throughout all time. It looks like Trail competition at horse shows, but they focus on speed rather than performance. This sort of competition questions the training of the horse, the experience of the rider, the amount of trust between the horse and the rider and how quickly the horse can complete the obstacle sequence.
The video shown below was posted originally on Facebook by Kelly Marks and Intelligent Horsemanship who features a beautiful pony named Pie and his talented rider, competing in a rodeo event together.
It’s always a great pleasure to see a horse and rider who demonstrate professionalism in every movement they make and have done tremendous work to achieve this kind of performance. If you look carefully at the pony who is crossing the obstacles, you can assume that a lot of hard work and training went behind this performance.
Kudos to them for putting so much effort and dedication in this discipline. We are happy that there are still people who train horses properly and as you can see, the results are simply amazing.
