1.Gray horses are found in several breeds.
The gray color is usually affiliated with the Lipizzan breed, but it is also very popular in Andalusians, Arabians, Welsh Ponies, and is allowed as a color by many breed registries.
2.A gray horse must have at least one gray parent.
The gray gene is dominant and cannot “show up” later on, as recessive genes can. So if you own a gray horse, there is no doubt that one or both of its parents were gray.
3.Gray horses have won the Kentucky Derby eight times.
