We are officially in the middle of the winter, and the temperatures have dropped to minus in many countries. A lot of people choose to spend their winter holidays skiing or snowboarding, just like the 21-year-old junior at the University of Colorado Boulder, Rafael Pease did. He likes spending his free time trying out different sports such as sports snowboarding.
He was enjoying the mountains of Chile when he noticed something he never imagined would happen in the snow. As he was snowboarding Rafael discovered a horse deep in the snow, clearly stuck and incapable of moving. Even though he was shocked at first, Rafael conducted a brave act and he immediately thought of a plan to get that horse out of the snow.
He filmed the entire ordeal on his GoPro and struggled all day to dig the horse out of the thick snow. Despite all the difficulties, he successfully managed to saves the poor horses’ life. It was also Rafael’s birthday that day and he couldn’t have asked for a better gift. There is nothing more beautiful than the amazing feeling you receive after saving another creature’s life.
Although he acknowledged that it would take all day to get the horse out of the snow, he didn’t think it twice and reacted in the blink of an eye. He gave celebrating his birthday, only to spend all day digging it out of the snow. But without a doubt, it was totally worth it. Watch the video below for more!
