During history, humans and horses have established a really strong bond, given the fact that horses are among the first domesticated animals who are still present nowadays. The first traces of horse domestication are found in Northern Asia, more specifically, Russia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia and since then, horses have been an important link to the development of our nowadays society.
Let’s take transport, for instance. Nowadays, it is really odd to use horses for transportation, while centuries ago, it was the most popular, if not the only way how to go to one place to another. Basically, horses themselves made the transport industry if we refer to land routes. Nowadays, the real focus is more on our emotional connection to horses.
It is quite understandable that during those eras of constant wars and other social problems, the last thing that horse owners would think of is to establish the connections that we do have with horses nowadays. All the time spent with them was usually during training sessions unlike nowadays when you can go ride your horse for hours. I really do believe that, as horse lovers, this is a way better era to live compared to centuries ago.
Now let’s focus on this beautiful performance of this rider and her horse. It is actually part of a very popular German film named Ostwind 2. Ostwind 2 is a German feature film made in 2015 by Katja von Garnier. The film is the film version of the 2014 novel Ostwind – Return to Kaltenbach and the sequel to the film Ostwind – Together we are free from 2013. It is a really beautiful performance that a lot of horse lovers and fans in Germany and abroad have given such positive feedback to it.
The thing that I love the most about the movie is the message that it gives all of us, that you can do wonderful things with your horse if you treat him with love and respect. The way how you treat your horse will also be reflected at the moment when you perform with it. I really recommend you all to watch the movie if you haven’t, nevertheless, enjoy this beautiful scene below and let us know what you think!
