There are a lot of ideas that come up to someone’s mind when the thrilling question: “What would you do if it was your last day on earth?” is asked. We have heard all kinds of stories from different people who have done very uncanny things as part of their dying wish.
While we can’t say for sure what most of the people ask for in their deathbed, we are sure that all the real equestrians would absolutely love to spend their last moments with the creatures they admire the most, horses. This is actually the incredible story of an 87-year-old named Patrick Saunders, who had spent the greatest part of his life in the company of horses.
Just like all the equestrians, he shared an incredible love for horses and even decided to dedicate all of his life to these noble creatures. He spent so much time with horses that he even met his wife, around 66 years ago during a riding lesson!
Therefore, he knew exactly what his dying wish would be before he passed away and it came as no surprise for the hospice workers when the real equestrian asked if he could pet and feed a horse one last time. Hospice nurse, Cathy Whattingham provided the bedside visit from the beautiful brown stallion named Victor.
Along with her colleges, they wheeled him outside so he could meet the lovely horse. He was astonished when he saw the horse and after minutes of feeding him with apples, carrots and then was taken back inside from nurses. Unfortunately, just 3 days later he passed away. We really hope that he is in a better place now!
