Did you know that there is a way to put saddle, bridle, and rider in less than 30 minutes? Well, today we have some good news for every equestrian. Monty Roberts is the mastermind behind a nonviolent training approach called Join-Up. He first developed this method to put an end to the series of brutality typically allowed in old horse breaking.
He was convinced that there was a far more efficient and kind method, so he created these compatible set of principles using the horse’s natural methods of language and herd habits. The result is as expected: an enthusiastic partnership in which the horse’s performance can increase to its full potential, rather than exist within the boundaries of willingness.
These principles are important tools for learning what triggers horse behavior and developing effectiveness in any use. These training methods are most commonly shown in the process of starting raw horses. Without the use of pain or force the trainer assures a raw horse to accept a saddle, bridle, and rider. This process of communication through reactions and body language, a common concern, and respect, can be a helpful tool to restore all other work with horses.
Many horse people, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, have used Monty’s methods, declaring that they are very effective and more people should be applying them with their horses. If You want to learn this method correctly and understand all the things we were talking about previously, please watch the educating video below. Make sure to share it with your friends.
