If you have never bridled or saddled a horse, then you don’t really know if it’s easy or difficult. A lot of people think that it doesn’t look really hard but in fact, it is not as easy as it seems to be. I mean, ask someone who does it frequently and let him/her share his/her thoughts with you. Even the experienced ones will say that it is not that easy.
However, this tutorial below is very helpful and if you are really struggling with bridling and saddling, then it is definitely for you. While tracking wild mustangs in Nevada as a boy, Monty observed a nonverbal communication between the horses, a silent language he would later call “Equus.”
Monty incorporates “Equus” into his nonviolent training approach called Join-Up®. Monty first developed Join-Up® to stop the cycle of violence typically accepted in traditional horse breaking. Convinced there must be a more effective and gentle method, Monty created these consistent set of principles using the horse’s inherent methods of communication and herd behavior.
The result is a willing partnership in which the horse’s performance can flourish to its full potential, rather than exist within the boundaries of obedience. Please watch this and any other videos of Monty cause they are indeed interesting and very helpful.
