In a world like this with a lot of concerning topics being discussed massively everywhere in the world, especially topics that are directly connected to human behavior, this couple is the example that humanity does still exist. Like many couples nearing retirement, Larry and Peggy Neaves dreamed of traveling the world together.
But their lives took another turn that they didn’t expect. The couple decided to dedicate their time caring for horses and built a sanctuary called Habitat for Horses. They sacrificed one of their biggest dreams for horses. “We don’t really have that desire now,” Peggy told Texas Country Reporter of traveling.
“This seems much more worthwhile for us to spend our money on. You look in these horses’ eyes and you hear their stories,” Peggy said. “Their stories are just terrible.” They both felt like it was their responsibility to make a huge change for these horses and their well-being was more important than their dream.
All these abused and neglected horses finally found a proper place where they can spend the rest of their days because of Larry and Peggy. This fills your heart way more than a trip. However, just because of what they’ve done, I really wish that they manage to do the trip as well because people with such hearts deserve this and even more.
