Have you ever been surprised by a horse jumping really high, higher than the standards put by your own horse? What about being surprised by your horse when it breaks its own limits? Well, nothing will be as impressive as the video that you are going to watch below.
Back in 1949, Alberto Larraguibel and his horse “Huaso” set a record of 2.47 meters. This jump has been one of the most important feats in the history of Chilean sport. Until that day, no one ever jumped that high, making it Chile’s only world record that has not been broken yet in 70 years.
Huaso was trained for two years with the goal of setting the world record. First, Huaso set the Chilean record, then the South American record and finally, the world record. Larraguibel explains that on that day, they were 3 attempts needed for the historical jump.
He explains how did he make it to a jump like that. As for Huaso, he lived almost double the age of an average horse. And after the jump day, he retired forever in green pastures being treated as he should be treated (being said to avoid speculations about Huaso being mistreated everlastingly). Time will tell if someone will break the record.
