A hulking Ukrainian ‘Superman’ gives new meaning to the term ‘hard as nails’. In a remarkable video to surface online, Dmytro Khaladzhi performs extraordinary feats of strength including bending a metal rod with his teeth and carrying a fully grown horse.
The Ukrainian strongman and former circus performer, 38, also deadlifts a saloon car and allows a truck to run him over. Little is known about the eastern European giant but a dubious Wikipedia page dedicated to him claims he holds 63 Guinness World Records.
They are said to include lifting a 152kg stone with one hand, binding six 20cm nails in 90 seconds and lying down on a bed of nails while three concrete blocks weighing 700kg were smashed with sledgehammers on his chest. Winning the bench press competition at the first Ukrainian Drug-Free Powerlifting Federation event is also listed as one of his many achievements.
His almost mythical cult status has led bodybuilding websites including Generation Iron to proclaim Khaladzi the “world’s strongest giant”. Khaladzi, whose weight and height are unknown, is said to have performed in the Donetsk circus. He went on to take part in Ukraine’s Got Talent where he reached the final of the popular show, according to the Ukrainian based Telekritika website.
