With an entry fee of $1m, the potential maximum amount was $4m which quadrupled to $16m. There are some changes under the way for 2019. The prize pot will be split between two races, the traditional Pegasus World Cup Invitation and the new Pegasus World Cup Turf invitation.
Due to the changes mentioned above, The Dubai World Cup will retake the title as the world’s richest horse race. This particular cup has been a constant fixture on the horse racing circuit for the past two decades and is held every year in the United Arab Emirates. The reported jackpot for their 2019 race is $12M.
