The Tennessee Walking Horse or Tennessee Walker is a breed of gaited horse known for its unique four-beat running-walk and flashy movement. It was originally developed in the southern United States for use on farms and plantations. It is a popular riding horse due to its calm disposition, smooth gaits and sure-footedness.
The Tennessee Walking Horse is often seen in the show ring, but is also popular as a pleasure and trail riding horse using both English and Western equipment. Tennessee Walkers are also seen in movies, television shows and other performances. What you are going to watch in this video is a 5-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse called Starbuck ‘gaiting up a storm.’ The video got hundreds of thousands of views when it was posted on social media and also got hundreds of comments appreciating the good work of both the trainer and the horse.
When the trainer got Starbuck, the horse was merely pacing all the time but after a lot of hard work a patience Starbuck went to gaiting really fast in about 6 weeks. The trainer said, “He was fun to ride and was incredible to be around. At top speed, I clocked him going 12.5 MPH. Any time you get discouraged, envision yourself here and keep working towards the goal.” Starbuck is just an awesome horse. Watch the video!
