The Paso Fino is a naturally gaited light horse breed dating back to horses imported to the Caribbean from Spain. Pasos are prized for their smooth, natural, four-beat, lateral ambling gait, they are used in many disciplines, but are especially popular for trail riding. This is a lively horse that has a natural drive and willingness, known colloquially as “brio”, and generally an amiable disposition.
Paso Finos come in a variety of colors, sizes and body types, but the even four-beat gait and brio are present in all good representatives of the breed. Paso Finos are very people oriented horses, one of the things that draw people to the breed is their willingness to try to do anything their rider asks of them. They are so smart that almost anyone can train them if they understand how to train kindly. Paso owners often state they have never had another breed that learns so fast, and tries so hard to please. Nicolas Jaramillo raises what people consider the best Paso Fino horses in Columbia.
They are national and international champions of the modality and what you are going to watch in this video is several Paso Fino horses including Paz de Sueño, the fastest Paso Fino in the world raised by Nicolas Jaramillo.
