Joanne Eccles is a British horse vaulting star. Naturally, when Joanne decided to marry, her dear horse, WH Bentley, was a huge part of the ceremony. As a competitive vaulter, Joanne has 11 senior championship medals, including three gold medals from World Championships. Joanne began vaulting when she was 8 years old.
This year, for her equestrian work, the 28-year-old was awarded Member of the Order of the British Empire by the Queen. Joanne won all of her medals with WH Bentley, so naturally, the horse is quite special to her. She and her husband, Fraser Littlejohn, married at Caputh Parish Church in Perthshire, England.
In a long, elegant wedding dress, Joanne did not hold back: She hopped onto WH Bentley and began vaulting. To the surprise of her guests, she didn’t remove a single item of her outfit, as she and Fraser took off for some stunning wedding photos, striking acrobatic poses with WH Bentley’s help. The couple originally planned to have photos taken with the horse after the wedding ceremony.
However, when the moment arrived, the newlyweds just couldn’t resist taking these incredible photos in their wedding attire instead. While Joanne has retired from vaulting and is now a trainer, these photos show that she has definitely still got it.
