All blind people need to have someone by their side to guide them because it’s very difficult for them to do daily activities all by themselves. We are used to seeing guide dogs massively, but guide horses were something we didn’t expect it. But that’s the story of Ann, a legally blind woman, whose life changed after she got a miniature horse to be her guiding light.
She has had three 3 guide dogs before and Panda is her first guide horse. They are the perfect example that the relationship between horse and human can be very strong and surpass all the difficulties! Miniature horses are very well suited and they understand that a blind horse has their special needs, hence they make them aware of every danger it may occur.
This miniature horse named Panda takes great charge for her owner Ann Edie and helps her as much as she can. Ann said that she is very happy that she has Panda by her side. Not only she is an excellent helper but she’s also very friendly and they have been together for 14 years. Over the years Ann has gained full trust in Panda.
Their interaction goes through small signs and Panda helps by navigating her through various obstacles. Ever since Ann got Panda to be her guide horse, she immediately understood her job and the needs that Ann had. Ann prays for them to be together for many years, because she simply couldn’t live without Panda! Watch the video below for more.
