It’s not often that we get to watch animals give birth before our very eyes, but if we happen to be at a zoo, or better yet, on a safari, we may just be the lucky ones to catch an animal in labor! While it’s not likely that we find ourselves in this situation, we can still enjoy the miracle of life by watching videos of births captured by lucky tourists.
One woman and her fellow tourists got up close and personal with a zebra mom giving birth. Of course, they could only come so close to the animals, but thanks to the cameras, we can pretend that we are right there beside the mom!
In the clip, the mother zebra is on the ground, she back turned toward us. You can see she’s breathing heavily and pushing hard: she lifts up her legs as if to help guide the little one out. Before you know it, you can clearly see the baby’s head! When he’s about halfway out of Mom, he starts moving on his own.
He’s ready to come into the world! Other zebras come up to Mom and the new baby to sniff around as if they are familiarizing themselves with the newest member of the family. This incredible sight is one of these tourists are sure to never forget!
