If there’s an animal who wants to be entertained all the time are horses. There is nothing new about the playful personality of horses, they always want to keep themselves busy with something. Talking about horse training, it is a way how to keep them busy by trying to teach them different things to do, however, a lot of people with full-time jobs lack the time to keep them always busy.
Even if you don’t have a job but a lot of daily activities that are both time and energy-consuming, you have no energy left to spend time with your horse. That is why proving them different interesting toys to play might be a solution. For some reason, pet stores across the country just don’t stock any toys for larger animals. It’s strange, yet a pervasive problem, and one that a couple from Prescott, AZ, decided to do something about.
Lisa Ross-Williams and Kenny Williams invented what they call the “Equi-Spirit Ball.” They own eight horses and one donkey, so they know a thing or two about how much care and attention these loving animals need to stay healthy. It all started when they rescued an orphaned foal from an auction. His name was Riley, and once the couple discovered he would, despite all odds, live, they needed to act fast.
We needed to get him moving — he needed to start using those muscles and learn how to use his body,” says Lisa of their new addition to the family. “So we started giving him toys, but he would break them in 30 seconds.” That’s when the Equi-Spirit Ball was born.
The Equi-Spirit Ball is not only a good way how to keep the horses occupied, but it is also a great way of training them as well. Playing with this ball keeps them moving all the time which is a great way of exercising. Sometimes we forget about how important it is to exercise our animals because it is also believed by a lot of vets that exercising your horse will have a significant impact on the lifespan of your horse, increasing it.
The best part about this miracle ball is the fact that they do not play with it because they have nothing else to do but they actually enjoy moving around by pushing the huge balls with their heads. Please watch the video below and let us know what you think!
