Typically, a day at the beach involves lots of sun and sand with a wave, depending on how much you like the water. It is not every day that people are called to action to rescue an animal. But beach visitors in Belgium had exactly that happen. A horse got trapped in quicksand on the beach, as he was moseying along with his rider.
She panicked when her horse started to sink. The high tide was beginning to roll in and the situation could have quickly turned dangerous. But thankfully, firefighters jumped into action to try and rescue the horse. But they needed a bit of help, so fellow beachgoers also got involved. They attempted to get rid of the sand by using their hands to dig it away.
To get the horse free, a digger also had to get involved. The horse might have been spooked by the sound of the machine and was thrashing around, but he was safely removed from the sand afterward. Local officials had warned of quicksand in the area prior to the incident, but thankfully everyone involved was helped out.
