A lot of people want to own a horse but unfortunately, not everyone can afford to buy one. One of them was also Hannah Simpson, a 19-year-old from Invercargill, New Zealand who had asked her parents many times to buy her horse for her eleventh birthday but they broke the news to her that she would not be getting one because they simply couldn’t afford it.
Although she got a little upset at first, Hannah accepted the fact and got over it by creating a special bond with a six-month-old dairy cow named Lilac. Now, seven years later, they have become best friends and Hannah has even trained Lilac to jump. It seems unbelievable but it is true!
Hannah and Lilac go on daily rides together and just lately she thought it was time to take this cow’s riding skills on a whole other level by teaching her how to jump. She trained Lilac jumping and it turns out she’s pretty good at it! Hannah said that she acknowledges that she is a cow and doesn’t expect from her cow to behave like a horse, because that’s impossible but she still enjoys teaching her new things.
Lilac’s mood changes very often and sometimes she simply doesn’t feel like cooperating but Hannah loves her too much and is used to her mood swings. She understands that Lilac is a unique cow and it doesn’t happen very often to come across a cow like her.
