One of the most important things in the world besides having a family is having great friends who are there to support you through difficult times. A lot of times, we feel like we can’t relate to our family members as much as we can relate to our peers who might understand what we are going through, and most of the time, these people are our friends. It is the same thing for animals as well.
A lot of them depend on each other and when it comes to horses, who are herd animals, this is totally accurate. You can clearly see it in the wild horses who might be in trouble. probably other horses from the breed will jump in to save them from an animal who might be attacking them or from other dangerous situations.
We also spend some of our most beautiful moments with our friends. Clearly, they have a huge importance in our lives and we should be grateful for having them. When it comes to nonhuman friends, we can all agree that horses are the most important friends that we have. Going back to the fact that horses are herd animals, they engage in behaviors with one another that are very important to their emotional well being.
Mutual grooming is relaxing and strengthens the bond between herd members as shown by Beau and Dorothy. Having a member of their herd stand guard while a horse lies down flat and falls into a very deep restorative sleep is another behavior that they share.
Here Denny is laying down and is fast asleep while Gabriel stands to watch over her. This is indeed a beautiful moment and a great demonstration of what I have been discussing previously. Please have a look at the video below and let us know what you think.
