Animals are just like us in many ways, especially emotionally. They understand love and the absence of love and companionship — loneliness. Zookeepers at the Cincinnati Zoo noticed that one of their horses seemed lonely and sad after the passing of her companion. But she also seemed to take a liking to her neighbors — the camels of the exhibit next door!
She whinnied every time one of the animals went out of sight, so zookeepers decided that there was only one thing they could do: put them together to see what would happen. What happened between the animals was surprising and welcome: now, they’re inseparable!
Zookeepers say that they spend every waking moment together. The only time they are apart is when they sleep in separate pens overnight and when they eat in the morning. Now, the horse seems much happier with friends to spend her days with. Of course, this isn’t the first camel-horse friendship we’ve seen: check out this duo, whose reunion is really a tearjerker!
It truly looks like they’re hugging in the clip. Do you live somewhere you can visit the Cincinnati Zoo? If so, don’t forget to check out these adorable animals! In the meantime, check out the clip below to see the two hanging out and being the best of friends!
