A very major problem in the horse world is the fact that a lot of them are not treated the way that they should be treated, especially the ones used for entertainment purposes. This topic is complex for the fact that it showcases forms of horse mistreatments that horse trainers or riders are not even aware of. For example, a horse who gets trained every day for prolonged hours simply because their trainers want them to perform when the moment comes it is in a way, mistreating their horses.
They are not being mistreating towards the horses, they are simply focused on delivering the best performance possible for the audience, given the fact that people have high expectations, maybe even more for showjumping or horse racing competitions compared to every other sport.
Another group, which I do not support at all, is the group of people who simply use horses for entertainment and they do not care for their horses at all, they simply want to earn a living out of them and it does not matter how they treat their horses. Well, this is a huge problem in our society. Since there are no strict laws that protect animals, people overuse the freedom that the legal system has given them towards animals, that is why animal mistreatment, in any form, happens.
I strongly believe that if the government imposes more animal protection laws and stricter detention for violators, I really do believe that the mistreatment is going to decrease immediately, however, in most of the situations it is not done because a lot of food industries are highly dependent in animals and such laws would have a negative impact on this business.
Focusing on the video below, the horse takes his revenge towards his owner who is using him to impress the audience. Clearly, the horse was not treated in the way that it needed to be treated, that’s why his owner got what he deserved. Usually, such a horse flip reflects on the bad behavior of the rider.
