People experience different feelings while riding but nothing ca be compared to the one riding and galloping along the beach especially when there are tens of horses around. What you are going to watch in this video is the Household Cavalry enjoying their day as well as training on Holkam Beach. These riders seem to have no care in the world as they splash around in the surf and gallop along the sandy beaches.
The mounted regiment isn’t there just for fun but they also undergo intense training combined with fun days and away from the distraction of the busy streets of London. They don’t just gallop along the shore, they also navigate their horses through the waters. The cavalrymen, all fighting soldiers, are all famous for their state ceremonial duties but they also need to unwind and relax and this is just the way they do it.
This happens every year and they spend two weeks training in Norfolk, which includes these ride outs on the beach. Besides being fun the coastal exercise helps build trust between horse and rider and also helps horses strengthen their muscles. I absolutely need to plan a horseback riding excursion on an ocean beach somewhere someday. That’s one of the top 5 things to do on my bucket list! Watch and enjoy the video!
