As you know having twins is very rare, especially in horses, because even if a mare gets pregnant with twins, the chances for them to stay alive are very low. That’s why whenever we hear the news that a set of twins is born healthy, it is great news for all the horse community and their owners can’t wait to share it in social media, where it becomes a hit immediately.
In the video shown below, you will be introduced to two precious twin foals named Tilly and Lilly. A Welsh Cob named Rose is the lucky mare who had the chance to give birth to two beautiful foals. As soon as the vet discovered that the mare was carrying twins, he had to make the difficult decision whether he would allow the pregnancy to continue or not.
That’s because allowing a twin foal pregnancy to reach full-term is an important decision because it can be very risky for the mare, but the experts decided it was best if they let nature take its course. It turns out that it was the best decision they ever made, even though it was not an easy one.
Tilly and Lilly are surely the most adorable twins we have ever seen and their owners should be very grateful for having the possibility to be near these beautiful creatures. The vets check them systematically and have affirmed that the mare and her twins are all in good shape and healthy. Having twin foals is a blessing and we are very happy that they are doing great.
