There are a lot of horses whose life is in danger, they have no one to take care of them, and need our help. Amber Keller is one of the extraordinary people who decided to rescue a horse after seeing him at the Double S Pen Horses Facebook Group.
She had never rescued a horse before, but there was something special about Molly, and after seeing her, Keller new she had to save her. So, in order to save Molly, she bought her for $650 from the Thompson pen in Louisiana. She was kept at the pen because she was used constantly to herd the cattle at the lot. She even had white scars from saddle sore.
The vet told Keller that she believed Molly was about 5 years old and also nearly 200 pounds underweight. Taking care of her was the biggest challenge in Keller’s life but she managed to do it perfectly. “I spent many days just swinging my leg on and off of her so she would learn that every time I rode her she didn’t have to take off.”-said Keller.
6 months later, Molly had completely recovered and was ready for even bigger challenges, so Keller decided to make a Facebook post to notify all the interested people that she was available for lease. Immediately after watching the post, Erin Pantalone wrote to Keller because she had been looking for a horse for her 11-year-old daughter, Keely Maier. Maier and Molly proved to be a winning team and together they’ve showed that they’re unstoppable.
