By far, you probably all know that twin pregnancies in horses are very difficult and have a very low success rate compared to normal pregnancies. Is really different compared to human pregnancies as in terms of humans, there is no major danger in such pregnancies as it is in horse so as soon as an owner figures out a pregnancy case with his/her horse, the first thing that they should do is contact a vet and see what do they recommend, however there will most likely be very little hope for the babies.
In a lot of times, even when they are born successful they might die a few days after they were born, which is even a more difficult situation. These horses need an extra special care and owner have to be careful with a lot of things that they would not have to be careful with if we would be talking about normal pregnancies. Maybe some of you might have been in this situation and you know what I am talking about.
Luckily, the video below is about one of those miracle pregnancy scenarios. Let’s see what this is about. A gorgeous American Paint Horse named Tiki gave birth to twin foals, Woodcock Pocket and Charming Opal. In the amazing video below, watch this proud mama and her babies just after they were born. The incredible mama horse is owned by the Mason family, who oversaw a series of Tiki’s ultrasounds that confirmed her foals were continuing to develop.
Her adorable foals were born healthy at the Conley and Koontz Equine Hospital in Columbia City, IN. According to the Huntington County Tab, “The 86-pound colt was born first, at about five minutes before midnight, healthy as — well — a horse. The filly was born about 10 minutes after midnight, weighing in at 59 pounds.
The filly, although she was the smaller of the two, turned out to be the strongest of the pair — she was up and walking around within 10 minutes of birth, Laura Mason says.” Not only twins, but they are twins of different genders as well. There are a lot of unique things about this pregnancies, the difference in the twin’s gender but at the same time the age of the horse, which was 16, hence she was a little old for such complicated pregnancy but luckily everything went perfectly fine. These twins are simply adorable. Have a luck at them.
