A nonprofit rescue horse center (Days End Farm Horse Rescue) based on Maryland made possible the rescue of 18 horses who were totally starved to death. The Farm brought all of these horses back together and it is nursing them back to health due to the urgent need for recuperation.
It is crazy how some of them are even hundreds of pounds underweight. They have been not fed well or even not fed at all for a long time, hence the extreme weight loss occurred. “It’s going to be a long road to recovery for these guys,” Erin Ochoa, one of the staff members said.
Thankfully, the horses are lucky enough to be found by this amazing group of people who will be there until they are fully recovered from what has happened to them during the last years. Nursing them back to health is really difficult judging by their conditions; it might take half a year or more for them to get better, which is both time consuming and costly.
But the most important for the rescue center is looking forward to seeing all of the horses become better and never experience what they have experienced. “We always have that hope,” says DeEtte Hillman of Days End Farm. “We never give up that hope.” If you’re happy to know the horses are at a very good place now, please make sure to share this with your friends and let them know about this beautiful story.
