I have said it previously and I am going to repeat it again, one of the most types of jobs are the ones that have to do with every form of rescuing. Firefighters, police, animal rescuers, etc the majority of the risks their lives at a certain point in their career. The thing that I don’t like about all of this is the fact that how underrated these professions are in terms of salary and recognition. You would expect rescuers among people with the highest salary, but it is definitely not the case.
Also, people do not appreciate the great impact that they have in our world, how many lives they have saved and how many they will. Every day, a lot of them wake up with the idea that it might be their last day so along with all the other difficulties that this profession has, it is also associated with psychological stress. Since I believe this generation is not well educated with how much all these professions should be appreciated I really hope that the next ones will give them the right credits. Now let’s get back to our story. Firefighters in Fort Eire are trained and experienced in animal rescues, but a horse falling through a sinkhole was a completely new challenge.
It happened when a water main break near the stables at the Fort Erie race track caused the ground to give way. A four-year-old racehorse, Mr. Changue, was grazing near the stable when one step sent him plunging into the earth. The hole where the horse was stuck was very deep, more than 6 feet high and at the same time very narrow given the horse’s size, hence, this was indeed one of the most difficult rescues that the firefighters’ team had come across. Furthermore, the size of the horse made it even more difficult to pull up.
You could barely see Mr. Changue. Fortunately, the rescuers managed to find a way how to get the horse out of there. Everyone was both surprised and relieved to see their horse had suffered only mild injuries. They bandaged the scrapes on his legs, and veterinarians expect him to make a full recovery. The horses itself must have been terrified at that moment but at least he was in good physical conditions and the recovery was fast. Shoutout to these amazing rescuers for the great job that they did.
