Cancer is one of the worst diseases that a person can have for a lot of reasons. Nowadays, it has become as frequent as normal flu, which is really concerning, given the high cost of the cure and at the same time the negative psychological and emotional impact of both the ones who are experiencing the disease but also their loved ones. Before continuing with the story of the young girl who is a cancer patient, I just want to say that I really hope that the cure will be found soon for this disease.
Nobody deserves it, especially young kids who should not even think about any of these types of problems but simply enjoy their childhoods and live their happy childhood moments. That is why all the children should be able to realize at such a young age that they are very lucky for a lot of things and should learn how to be grateful for it. Now let’s carry on with the story. “I love horses,” a little girl tells us as she carefully colors in a drawing of her favorite animal.
Kiera is a cancer patient at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and although her spirits seem high, she has one very simple wish — To see her beloved horses in their natural habitat. That’s precisely what Expedia intends to do for her and many other kids in the same situation. “A lot of these children are there for months — or maybe even years — and they’re not able to go out and see different parts of the world.” With the help of a camera and a little traveling, Kiera was able to see wild horses roaming the windy fields of Argentina live.
As she reaches out to touch the beautiful image, a voice on the other end gently prompts her: “Which one’s your favorite?” I’m getting emotional just thinking about it! Many people are doing wonderful things to help patients just like Kiera, too. Kylie is an 11-year-old who invented the “Chemo Backpack,” and Katelyn is a 10-year-old who shaved her head to raise awareness.
I really adore the fact that her dream became true and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was able to bring the smile back to this little girl. God bless her and I wish her and her family all the good in the world because they deserve it after what they have been through.
