As all of you know, the thoroughbred is one of the fastest horse breeds in the world and this is the main reason why they are the starts of the most famous horse races in the world. To create an idea for the newcomers or non-horsey people who may read this, here are some characteristics of thoroughbred horses.
The typical Thoroughbred ranges from 15.2 to 17.0 hands (62 to 68 inches, 157 to 173 cm) high, averaging 16 hands (64 inches, 163 cm). They are most often bay, dark bay or brown, chestnut, black, or gray. Less common colors recognized in the United States include roan and palomino.
The video below is a usual training day of Sasa and Zwegat. Jockey and horse gallop together at full speed and it is absolutely incredible. The thing that I like the most about this video is that it was recorded from different perspectives which makes it even more amazing and makes you realize how fast it really is.
No wonder why a lot of jockeys like thoroughbreds. Just so you know, the average speed of thoroughbred horses is 30 miles per hour or 48.2 km/ hour. Please watch the video below and share your thoughts on this video. If you think it is worth sharing with your friends, please make sure to do so.
