There are a lot of cases when the horse saves the rider from falling or they just show amazing coordination of their own and save themselves and the riders as well. The oxer two step is when the horse puts his hind legs down in the middle of an oxer, only to pull them out with unimaginable speed and agility to clear the jump with no penalties.
It might sound impossible to many but this happens and what you are going to watch in the video is exactly this, how two horses perform quite the same action and save both themselves and the riders. We usually ask our horses to perform complex tasks and we really appreciate their efforts but we are stunned at what they can do without us teaching them to do those kinds of things. The first clip features a horse named Pinon Katja and its rider Mark Laskin at the “Brookside Classic” in 1995. The second clip was from Everest Twostep and its rider Michael Whitaker from the 1995 “du Maurier Limited International”.
You can clearly see that Pinon Katja drop her legs “within” the Oxer and then makes an amazing save. The same thing happens to Everest Twostep, he does the same two-step as Pinon Katja and he also make an incredible save. Even though these obstacles are extremely difficult, the well-trained horses always make the difference. Watch the video and share your opinions with us!
