One of the most beautiful things about horses is definitely seeing them run happy and free. Everyone knows that horses are connected to freedom. It can’t only be seen but also it can be felt as long as you go for the first ride with your horse. It is one of the most amazing moments ever, it feels like the world stops and for a moment, you forget about every single problem that you might have. Even when it lasts for a long time, the whole thing happens really quickly and it feels like you were just riding for a few seconds.
However, the problem is that when these amazing animals get hurt, sick, or in trouble, there may not be any human around to lend a helping hand. This is one of the biggest disadvantages of horses living in the wild, they might be in a lot of dangerous situation and there is no one around to take care of them. That is why all the statistics show that the average lifespan for the domesticated horses is longer than the one for wild horses due to this exposure to dangerous situations in life.
It is something that can be experienced only through horses, there is no better animal to go for a ride with than a horse. If we are talking about horse riding, we are referring to domesticated horses as logically, it is almost impossible to ride a wild horse are they are not used to having humans around. Every move that you might make to get close to a wild horse can be translated as a threat.
Nevertheless, you can enjoy watching beautiful herds of these horses running together in the wild and having the times of their lives. In my opinion, wild horses might feel happier than the domesticated ones simply for the fact that they have a lot of freedom, something that is really important for horses. No matter how much freedom do you provide to the horses in your barn, it hardly can be a substitute for the freedom that these horses have in the wild.
A group of female photographers showcases the beauty of the horses in the wild through the amazing photos that they have captured. Armed with nothing but their cameras, these women venture into the Great Basin, one of the few remaining untamed areas of the U.S. to find the majestic free-roaming wild horse. These women capture two extremes; wild horses reveling in their freedom — then freedom quickly ripped away as helicopters chase and herd them into captivity.
I like the fact that they are presenting the reality as it is, as beautiful as all these photos of horses running free are, as much sad is this reality of the horses getting captivated. Please watch the video below and you will be able to understand more about this cruelty that is made towards wild horses. Have a look.
