Today, we live in a world where we try to use our resources in the most profitable way possible. Unfortunately, animals are considered to be resources as well and they are selected: which ones are the best and which the worst.
Let’s take horses, for example, the stronger ones are used in labor and competitions and the ‘useless’ ones are sent to the slaughterhouse or left abandoned with no water, food or shelter. Let us introduce you to a very informative story uploaded on YouTube by World Horse Welfare.
‘This video is the story of Sarah George, who rehomed 13.0hh Cindy from World Horse Welfare’s Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Snetterton, Norfolk last December for her 11-year-old daughter Emily after she had a nasty experience on another pony, leading to her losing her confidence.’ they wrote. Despite everything, they never refused to give up on horses.
Sarah explains how rehoming a rescue horse is one of the best things that a person can do not only for the horse but also for himself/herself and I strongly agree with her. I really hope that this video will have an impact on people who have their doubts about adopting a rescue horse and why not, help to make them the next adopters.
