Have you ever heard of “La Charreria”? If you are a big fan of equestrian sports than I’m pretty sure that you have come across this unique discipline, but for anyone who isn’t familiar with it, we are giving a brief description of it. The charrería is a competition just like rodeo and was created from animal agriculture practices used in the fields of old Mexico.
This discipline is defined as “living history,” because it is a work of art created from the requirements of the working life. The people who manage to do “La Charreria” are named Charros and are considered very great horsemen with special abilities and skills. This discipline is very old and the younger generations are taught to perform it, so the tradition can continue.
One of the most talented Charros in the world is Tomas Garcilazo. He is known all over the world not only as a great horseman but also as a very skilled roping artist. His hard work has made him very famous in different continents, especially in Europe, where he has performed in several countries.
He has made it his life’s mission to make the “La Charreria”, Mexico’s National Sport, very popular and we can say without a doubt that he has done an excellent job to represent this discipline throughout the world perfectly.
In the video shown below, you will see Tomas Garcilazo performing the traditional charro amazingly. As you can see, the audience was supporting him by applauding and cheering throughout all the performance because he really deserved it. Don’t miss watching his performance in the video below!
