We all get emotional every time we read different stories of touching reunions. Today we are going to show you the moving story of Erin Herberger of Brighton, New York, and her cute horse named Nemo. Fortunately, Nemo is back where he belongs and of course, Herberger has no plan of ever letting him go again! Nemo was a former racehorse with an undetermined future when the young teaching student Erin met Nemo for the first time and decided to purchase him in 2004.
She was accompanying a friend who was interested in buying a retired racer to a local track and had no intention of getting a horse of her own, but they created a special bond from the moment they saw each other. After two years together, sadly, Herberger gave Nemo to a local barn due to her restless schedule as a full-time substitute teacher.
She was convinced that he would get plenty of attention from the college equestrian team that trained there and that she could visit him whenever she desired. Less than a year later, the horse disappeared. Herberger was notified only that someone in Virginia had bought him.
Almost 10 years later, Herberger got an email who announced that they were selling Nemo, a 15-year-old bay horse with a significant white star on his face. Heberger was able to purchase Nemo once again with the help of her close relatives. Herberger is boarding him at Blumont, where she’s retraining him to jump.
