There are a lot of perks from living in the countryside. Life is simpler, there is less of the hustle and bustle of the city, more nature, and relaxation, and sometimes you get to see things like goats jumping on a trampoline. Talk about the good life, right? Adina from Simply Country Life knows exactly what I’m talking about!
She grew up close to the beach in Florida and now lives in a rustic cabin in the woods in South Carolina. Her fun new life in the country inspires her DIYs, and her surroundings usually serve as her materials, too! That’s how she got her hands on some horseshoes for this simple country DIY, from her neighbor who was sending a bunch of used horseshoes to the scrap pile.
With just some horseshoes and a block of wood, Adina pulled together a serene and rustic DIY perfect for every country home, as featured on Hometalk! To start off, Adina made marks on the wood for where the candles would go. She then drilled spaces in the wood for the candles. She sanded the wood down and added a protective matte finish. She also made sure to clean off the horseshoes.
She then nailed the horseshoes into either end of the block of wood. You could add greenery and flowers around the candles and use them as a centerpiece for a country wedding. Or, given the size of the candleholder, it would be a lovely mantlepiece addition. What a great DIY for a country home!
