On October 2011 a little foal was born at the BLM facility in Delta. His name was Jazz and sadly, he didn’t have the chance to spend time with his mother because she died shortly after Jazz was born. She was sent at the BLM facility after a roundup of wild horses six months earlier.
The manager of the facility was about to close for the night when he noticed Jazz’s mother whose labors had just started. Eric’s wife, Lisa, has assisted and helped him a lot while he was looking for a home for Jazz. The baby needed milk every 3 hours but Lizza was there to take care of the foal until a foster home could be found.
Jazz was just a frightened little foal, red with a big white blaze covering his face, so Eric brought him to his house. The whole family spent a lot of time with Jazz and they still cherish the first moments when Jazz moved in their home. Jazz’s first night in the family house is still unforgettable for the family because they were all concerned about him.
After he got healthy he was ready to move on to his new foster family. It was very difficult for the horse to say goodbye to that incredible horse because they created a strong bond with him. But at least they knew that Jazz’s new family would take such good care of him. Eric and his family will always remember and love Jazz. Watch the video below for more!
